The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI goes on sale this summer and will make its official debut at the upcoming Auto Show 2012 in Chicago. VW has fed us some information ahead of its debut album, however, revealing that it will be available in three trim levels and we expect a 29-mpg city and 39-mpg highway.
The Beetle TDI will be powered by a turbocharged diesel 2.0L with 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or Volkswagen innovative DSG double-clutch six-speed automatic. For the interior, TDI models equipped with an additional instrument pod of the oil temperature and boost gauges with a stopwatch.
The three models of the TDI Beetle is available in TDI TDI with sunroof, and TDI with sunroof, and its navigation. The upgraded models are quite explicit, with the base model comes with 17-inch wheels while the standard model sunroof also adds a premium audio system VIII with a color touch screen. Finally, the high-end model has a navigation system RNS 315 with a five-inch touchscreen and a Fender Premium audio system.
The price has not yet been announced.
